Saginaw Bay Waterfowl Festival August 7th & 8th
.

Last year’s 2009 Michigan Duck Hunter’s Association
(MDHA) Saginaw Bay Waterfowl Festival
attracted nearly 12,000 waterfowl hunters and
their families! The “Duck Hunting and Outdoor
Recreation Expo” was a bustling place of activity
where over 100 exhibitors displayed their
hunting, archery, camping, boating, wildlife
watching, and habitat enhancement products
are wares.
Festival exhibitors are also knowledgeable outdoorsmen
and women and are very willing to share
valuable information and tips, as well as, offer for
sale the latest in waterfowl hunting gear, outdoor
clothing, wildlife watching equipment, and attractive
home décor. This is a very unique festival designed
for your entire family. There is something for everyone…
the hunter, the wildlife watcher, the wildlife
artist, and those interested in conservation of wetland
wildlife resources.
Come on out and discover why this sportsman’s
show is unique! The event is specially designed as
a way for visitors to introduce their children to a
wide array of outdoor, natural based activities.
Every hour on the hour there are hands-on clinics,
and programs which introduce participants to traditional
forms of outdoor recreation… duck calling,
canoeing, dog retrieval training, air rifle marksmanship,
decoy carving, wildlife photography, wildlife
watching, and skills of bird identification..

So what's Does MDHA do for Michigan ducks?

We do a lot of behind the scenes things through MDHA...for example, recently we have pitched in on helping fund some pump restoration at Nayanquing Pt. and we footed the entire bill to send the DNR staffer to the summer flyway meetings which the DNR said they could not afford to do otherwise. Macatawa Bay Chapter sent a check for $5,600 to pay for seed and herbicides for the continued operation of the Todd Farm for 2006.These are just a few examples of how Michigan money is staying and being used locally in Michigan. All MDHA money stays in Michigan. That is what's so great about it.
